Mass plus message
After the success of Jr NTR’s Devara: Part 1 in 2024, Koratala is gearing up for another large-scale project. The announcement poster of the new film, unveiled on Friday, carries a strong message. It states that “power meets purpose” and “mass becomes a movement.” Given that Koratala’s protagonists are often powerful figures, expect the word “power” to carry deeper meaning in this film as well.
Balakrishna commands a loyal following among the masses. His screen presence in action cinema remains formidable. Koratala, meanwhile, is known for understanding the pulse of the audience, having delivered several commercial hits with strong social themes. Together, the actor-director duo complement each other’s strengths and make for an exciting combination for fans and moviegoers. Regular shooting is expected to commence soon.
Balayya’s purple patch
Balakrishna is currently enjoying a strong phase in his career. Akhanda began this impressive post-pandemic streak with its spiritual action theme. He followed it up with Bhagavanth Kesari and Veera Simha Reddy. His 111th film is directed by Gopichand Malineni and features Nayanthara as the female lead. An intriguing project with director Vivek Athreya is also reportedly in the pipeline. Going by his present line-up, the Nandamuri star continues to give younger superstars tough competition.
The Balakrishna-Koratala Siva collaboration has long been anticipated. Now that it is finally happening, with reports suggesting a Sankranthi 2027 release, excitement is understandably high. Koratala was earlier expected to move to Devara 2 after Jr NTR’s Dragon, but with no immediate developments, he has now shifted focus to this project.
