Capcom has finally confirmed its long-rumored remake of the beloved Resident Evil: Code Veronica. Titled Resident Evil Veronica, the survival horror game is arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC sometime in 2027.
The first trailer, shown during Summer Game Fest, teases a first-person perspective and shows iconic protagonist Claire Redfield being grabbed at a Paris hotel while looking for her brother, Chris. Watch it below.
Here’s the official logline:
“3 months have passed since the biological disaster in Raccoon City. Claire Redfield, having survived along with Leon S. Kennedy and Sherry Birkin, travels to France in search of her brother, Chris Redfield.
However, what awaits her is not a reunion with her brother, but the Umbrella special forces unit responsible for the incident. They capture Claire and transport her to a mysterious island.”

Resident Evil Veronica follows Capcom’s excellent remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4. The most recent game in the series, Resident Evil Requiem, was released this past February, selling five million copies in just five days. Meanwhile, horror mastermind Zach Cregger’s film adaptation of the franchise arrives on September 18th.
