The story of Cyberpunk 2077 really is a pretty remarkable one, with CD Projekt Red’s sprawling RPG successfully transitioning from one of the most disastrous launches of all time to arguably one of the best examples of the genre ever. In that time, the game has accrued millions of fans, and a sequel is now underway at the developer (though their focus is mostly on The Witcher 4 for the time being).
The game is so popular that a bunch of wider releases have started cropping up around it, from huge arcade machine racers to comics and books widening the existing lore. Now, the latest of those is on the way, and it arguably pushed the boat out more than anything we have ever seen previously.
Over on the official Twitter/X page for Cyberpunk 2077, they confirmed the release of a new set of tarot cards. They shared the following insight into exactly what fans can expect when it releases in Fall of this year:
“Introducing the Cyberpunk 2077: Tarot Deck, an official set of tarot cards created in collaboration with our friends at Panini Comics and
Dark Horse Comics. Inside the box, you’ll find a full tarot deck, including both Major and Minor Arcana, along with a guidebook to help you navigate your fate, just like Misty Olszewski.”
As mentioned previously, the most specific release date we have right now is Fall of this year, with localized editions available in the USA, Italy, France, Spain, and Germany.
Fans in the comments were full of excitement at the prospect, with one saying, “I literally bought a deck of Tarot because of this game and now you’re releasing the official Cyberpunk versions AFTER I cave and buy the other ones.”
“I already pledged for the Cyberpunk TCG… I guess I’m also getting Tarot cards now!! Just might have to do Tarot Readings in between playing the TCG lol,” another added.
“YES, literally been hoping to see this from the first time I saw the Fool in game. Now, if you’d only bring back the Samurai tour shirt, my life would be complete!” a third said.
Given that we are probably years away from the next Cyberpunk 2077 release, it’s nice to have these additional products in and around the IP to keep everyone interested. When the next game does arrive, let’s hope it does so with less of a negative splash than the first did, and we should be onto a winner.
