Over the years, Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) is celebrated for high-energy, versatile, and genre-bending music. The composer and playback singer has delivered soulful, melodic, and acoustic-driven chartbusters. And he continues to experiment with his upcoming film, Yellamma. Apart from playing the protagonist in the rustic drama directed by Venu Yeldandi, Devi Sri Prasad is also providing music.
Collaborates with 100 folk rhythm artists
Ever since its announcement and first look, Yellamma sparked excitement. More so because the film marks the acting debut of Devi Sri Prasad. He is all set to bring the raw intensity of folk music alive. DSP has recorded Yellamma title song with 100 traditional folk rhythm artists who represent diverse cultures across India.
The idea is to blend traditional regional folk instruments and rhythms into mainstream cinema. Devi Sri Prasad aspires to bridge traditional folk rhythms with contemporary electronic dance and mass beats. By bringing in traditional folk rhythms for Yellamma title song, he wanted to give a new spin to the film’s music and add to his repertoire. Since his compositions are a seamless blend of Western pop, rock, hip-hop, classical Indian touches, and regional folk instruments, the makers exude confidence that song will strike a massive chord with the music lovers.
Known for connecting music to the core narrative and emotional beats of a film, the National Award winner is all excited with Yellamma. Produced by Dil Raju, the film is slated for released on March 5, 2027, in multiple languages.
