Disney Dreamlight Valley is still going strong after nearly three years in operation. Arriving in December 2023, the game exploded on a variety of platforms before eventually moving to Switch 2 earlier this year. As one of the easiest simulation and cozy games to pick up on the market, it’s continued to dominate for months on end.
Since then, developer Gameloft has provided copious amounts of updates to the game (both paid DLC and free patches), which inject tons of Disney characters and worlds into the valley. The aggressive content gambit paid off, as fans were happy to see their favorite Disney characters popping in, all of them with fairly rich and lengthy questlines.
Now, thanks to a new official post on X, you can grab another freebie right now. Fans are already loving the deep cut that this freebie represents, offering up a relatively unseen side of Disney.
There’s currently a freebie on offer in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It’s the “Spirit of Spring” outfit, which you can get through a code officially revealed by the developer to celebrate the change in seasons.
All you need to do is enter the following redemption code:
Fans are loving the freebie: “It looks like the most stylish dressing gown. Thank you.” Another writes: “Thank you so much. I loved this outfit so much. Have a magical spring moment.” Others, who may not be in on the reference, are split on its look: “Kinda looks like a melted beanstalk, but ok…thanks?”
They’re also discovering slowly that it’s a subtle reference to a character from Fantasia 2000, the Spring Sprite: “This wasn’t on my bingo card. Love the reference to Fantasia. I could use more Fantasia in-game. Also me: can’t wait to become a lettuce wrap and run around my valley.”
The Spring Sprite is a memorable design from 1999’s Fantasia 2000, which played a prominent role in The Firebird Suite portion of the movie. Following a wave of destruction across the land, the Spring Sprite renews flora and fauna, allowing them to flourish in a cycle of rebirth.
While it’s tough to justify a fully-fledged Fantasia 2000 update given where it stands in the greater Disney canon, adding it as a cheeky costume reference is a perfect way to sneak it in.
In case you haven’t done it before, here is how to redeem codes in Disney Dreamlight Valley:
- Enter the game’s main menu
- Go to settings
- Select “Help”
- Select “Redemption Code”
- Enter the code
You can repeat this process for any Disney Dreamlight Valley freebie while one is on offer. Think of it like a Mystery Gift promotion from the Pokémon series.
