Entering the film industry is where dreams assume reality and the struggled journey comes to a satisfying conclusion, sprouting the commencement of the next phase in the journey. As green as the career looks from the other side, there are an array of hurdles that come with trying to find work in the industry.
Do You Dare is a series where a flaming hot question is posed to the celebrity before which they are given an ultimatum. If the courage reigns strong and a choice is made to hear the question, then answer they must. On the contrary, they can always decide to omit the question overall, locking away the question for good.
During the exclusive Saiyami Kher dared to be questioned and opened about how she was given certain advices with a promise of a smoother time within the film industry.
When Saiyami was asked what type of advice she recalled being given by industry insiders regarding her appearances and personality, she answered, “This morning I was reading through some Instagram comments. There are so many people who love giving free, pointless advice.”
With the world more comfortable blurting things at the top of their mind, people feel more at ease splaining anything they find suitable. On what suggestions were directed towards her, she said, “So the most ridiculous was, ‘You should date an actor or director… It’s easier to get work.’ And from a different person, I was told that I should get a lip job, because you should look a certain way when you’re entering the industry.”
While obnoxious in nature, Saiyami Kher did not pay too much heed to these suggestions, relying on her own talents as an actor. She built her career on her own terms, not succumbing to being molded by the industry and staying rooted in her own beliefs.
She continued, “Both of which I ignored, and I feel that I managed to get work for 10 years, with the same lips that I have and without dating an actor or director.”
Saiyami Kher does have an international project lined up in her platter, with the details for the same under tight locks. Furthermore, she plans to do a half marathon in Mumbai this coming January and the Tata Ultra Marathon in February. She also wishes to compete in her fourth Ironman triathlon in September 2027.
