Reports recently claimed that Shahid Kapoor is set to collaborate with director Amit Ravindranath Sharma for the comedy Adal Badal, with the film reportedly scheduled to go on floors in October 2026. Fresh off the success of Cocktail 2, the actor was also said to have signed the project for a hefty remuneration. However, Filmfare has learnt that these reports are inaccurate.

A source close to the development told us, “The reports of Shahid Kapoor being a part of Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s next comedy are completely untrue. These are baseless rumours with no truth to them. Any speculation around his casting in the film is entirely incorrect.”

Earlier reports had suggested that Adal Badal would be produced by Sunir Kheterpal in association with Amazon MGM Studios and would begin filming in October 2026. They further claimed that Shahid had signed the film for a fee of Rs 18 crores, along with a backend profit-sharing agreement. However, our source has dismissed all such claims.

On the work front, Shahid Kapoor was most recently seen in Cocktail 2, which opened to a positive response at the box office. He will next be seen in Farzi season 2.
