Haiwaan finally took to theatres on September 11, 2026, featuring the star-cast duo of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. The narrative kicks off with a blind caretaker, Shyam (Saif Ali Khan), being framed for a murder he never committed.
Shyam would help the retired judge, Pradhan (Boman Irani), with day-to-day chores. This is when Parshuram (Akshay Kumar) enters the picture, brutally murdering the judge and leaving Shyam to bite the dust. Shyam must now protect Pradhan’s young granddaughter from the preying eyes of the psychopath killer, Parshuram.
Haiwaan opened in theatres to a decently good start. With a runtime of over 2 minutes and 45 seconds, the action thriller promises an enthralling experience within a grim-themed set. The day 1 collections for Haiwaan on Friday, September 11, 2026, show a gross collection of Rs 3.6 crores in India. When taking into consideration the competition it faces on both the international and domestic fronts, it shows some promise.
The other strong contenders include Epic – First Semester and Fall 2: Deadpoint. There have also been a series of OTT releases on the same day, such as Ghamasaan on Zee5 and The Revolutionaries on Prime Video.
As of now, there are no updates as to when Haiwaan will release on an OTT platform. September looks promising for the genre of crime thriller movies, with many others on the route for their individual releases. Love Lottery will be releasing on September 18 and PRIMETIME on September 25.Another highly anticipated movie coming soon is the National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar’s Daayra, which will release this Friday, September 18, 2026, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
