While Magic: The Gathering has only just recently released Secrets of Strixhaven alongside a plethora of exciting new mechanics, the classic trading card game is already looking ahead to its next major set release featuring Marvel’s mightiest heroes and villains. Being one of the most highly anticipated MTG sets due to its major collaboration potential, WOTC has a massive selection of Magic: The Gathering cards and products on display to live up to its expectations.

Even with no shortage of Marvel-themed Secret Lairs, the full set will offer a massive expansion that’s playable in a wide variety of formats, with both new products to help new players get involved in Magic: The Gathering and plenty to offer for long-time fans.

Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes Release Date

Kicking off the summer with a brand-new release, Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes will officially drop worldwide on June 26, 2026, letting everyone in on the fun of hunting down highly sought-after cards or playing at the same time. As per usual, MTG will also offer a pre-release week ahead of the official launch from June 19–25, where you can participate in events and purchase limited products like pre-release and draft kits early.

One of the biggest differences with Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes is that, similar to Marvel‘s previous collaboration with Spider-Man in 2025, Marvel Super Heroes won’t be coming to MTG Arena as a themed card set. Thankfully, this doesn’t mean you won’t be able to play with the new cards online, as WOTC will be launching alternate versions of the cards without Marvel‘s theming on June 23.

While we’ve already had several previews, MTG will also be revealing additional spoilers over the course of the next few weeks, up until June 12, making it well worth keeping an eye out for future updates about the set in case any new cards pique your interest.

Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes Products And Pricing

Marvel MTG Commander decks in front of Doctor Doom

While the exact prices for every product and the pre-release kit details are still waiting to be revealed, WOTC has already revealed a majority of the lineup in terms of what products fans can expect to see on store shelves, which fully lives up to its nature as a big-budget MTG crossover. Compared to Spider-Man‘s controversial release, Marvel‘s second MTG collaboration offers a wide variety of boosters, bundles, and pre-constructed decks available for purchase.

One of the most notable aspects is the four new commander decks, which come in the form of either the standard edition or full collector’s versions, which include surge foil versions of every card in the deck. Themed after the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Wakanda, and Doom Prevails deck that includes Marvel’s mightiest villains, each offers a unique playstyle with its own unique spin on the format.

Although the wide variety of products we’re getting isn’t too surprising, given how massive a property Marvel is, it seems there’s a product for just about everyone. While several of the products are currently unavailable and will be updated closer to release, we do know the prices for multiple upcoming releases from the set based on the current pre-order rates on Amazon, which may be a bit higher than at your local game store.

    • Pre-release Kit $N/A
    • Play Booster Box $209.70
    • Collector Booster Box $N/A
    • Jumpstart Booster Box $167.76
    • Collector’s Edition Commander Decks $639.96
    • Commander Decks $N/A
    • Bundle $N/A
    • Gift Bundle $89.99
    • Draft Night $119.99
    • Beginner Box $34.99
    • Heroes United Scene Box $41.99
    • Villains Unleashed Scene Box $41.99

As usual, you will be able to purchase play, jumpstart, or collectors boosters individually after release, although these products tend to vary more depending on your individual retailers. Each Commander Deck can also be purchased separately rather than as a four-pack, which will have slightly varying prices depending on the quality and demand for each individual deck, the average of which is currently $74.99 on Amazon for a standard edition.

Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes Set & Card Details

Marvel Super Heroes card types and symbols

Unlike some of the more complicated Universes Beyond sets, Marvel Super Heroes will only feature a couple of fairly straightforward expansion symbols. Marvel Super Heroes (MSH) is the set allowed in standard play and eternal formats, while Marvel Super Heroes Eternal-Legal (MSC) is excluded from standard but is legal for Commander, Legacy, and Vintage play.

WOTC is already releasing Marvel Super Heroes Borderless Source Material (MAR) cards, which offer reprints of existing cards, where the legality of each card is based on the set the original card is from. Aside from the variety of unique cards, powerful commanders to build, and comic-book themed products and expanded art cards to collect, Marvel Super Heroes has already unveiled the first of the Infinity Stones for you to collect with the Mind Stone.

Offering an indestructible white mana rock with an infinite activation ability to exile and return a permanent to the field every end step, the collector’s booster edition already looks like it will be one of the priciest in the set if you can get your hands on one.

While we’re still waiting for the rest of the stones and major character surprises to be revealed, Magic: The Gathering: Marvel Super Heroes‘ card previews already show some uniquely thematic mechanics to look forward to, ranging from a plethora of iconic characters like Dr. Doom, Thanos, and Bruce Banner, alongside plenty of niche characters and creative references that fans of the franchise will appreciate
