The man accused of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music in 2025 has taken a last-minute plea deal on the eve of his jury trial, WXIA-TV reports. Kelvin Evans received a five-year sentence, with two years to be served in prison and the remainder on probation, after changing his plea to guilty on charges of criminal trespass and entering an automobile.

Earlier in the hearing, prosecutors presented surveillance footage that they alleged shows Evans parking next to a Jeep outside an Atlanta building, looking inside, and stealing two suitcases and several hard drives. They claim that Evans, who was on parole at the time, took the items into an apartment building connected to his sister, according to Fox 5 Atlanta. None of the stolen items has been recovered.

The theft took place shortly before Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta; the Jeep was being used by her choreographer and one of her dancers. As well as unreleased music, the drives reportedly contained setlists and concert video footage.
