    The Mel Gibson-directed film The Passion of the Christ is heading back to theaters ahead of the upcoming two-part sequel.

    Lionsgate announced that a digitally remastered version of The Passion of the Christ in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound will be released in movie theaters from September 10-17 as part of a Fathom Screening Event. Tickets on on sale July 24.
