Monsieur Periné have announced that they are going on an indefinite hiatus after nearly two decades together.
The Colombian band shared the news with fans on Monday, saying the decision was perhaps “the most difficult” they have ever had to make.

“We’re going to separate,” the band wrote in Spanish. “We don’t know for how long. What we do know is that we need this space. An individual space that we believe will be good for us and that, hopefully, will allow us to find each other again in the future from a different place, in a different mood.”

Monsieur Periné will complete the seven remaining dates on their “Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz Tour“, which the band’s representatives have confirmed will be their final performances before the hiatus. The run includes upcoming stops in Orlando, Miami, Mexico City, Bogotá, Caracas, Ibagué, and Puerto Rico following a September 29th show in New Orleans.

The hiatus arrives just weeks after the two-time Latin Grammy winners received their latest nomination: Instrucciones Para Ser Feliz is up for Best Contemporary Pop Album at the 2026 ceremony. Album track “Aguaráchate” was also recently included on the EA Sports FC 27 soundtrack.
Monsieur Periné concluded their message by thanking fans who have accompanied them throughout their career and expressing hope that the remaining concerts can serve as a celebration of their nearly 20 years together.
