Call it a double delight for Naga Chaitanya. The actor is set to take on a new role in his career as the second season of the mystery thriller Dhootha officially goes on floors. The project was formally launched with a traditional pooja ceremony. Interestingly, Chaitanya has also turned producer with the series. Sharing his excitement on social media, the actor wrote, “Auspicious beginnings as I step into the second chapter of Dhootha and my first step as a producer. Onwards and upwards. Here’s to the magic ahead.”
Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni sounded the clapboard for Dhootha 2, which is being directed by Vikram Kumar, who also helmed the acclaimed first season. Naga Chaitanya was among the first mainstream Telugu stars to embrace the OTT space. He headlined the inaugural season of Dhootha, which received praise for its performances, storytelling and production values. While Chaitanya played a journalist in the first season, it remains to be seen how Vikram Kumar has developed his character arc in the sequel. The series also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar and Parvathy Thiruvothu in key roles. Meanwhile, Chaitanya is simultaneously shooting for the supernatural thriller Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Dandu.
