Ocarina Of Time Remake “Seamless” Map Has Gamers Seriously Excited

In case you missed all of the fun yesterday, we’ve just had the latest Nintendo Direct, and it finally revealed that the long-rumored Ocarina of Time remake is very much a real thing, and it’s releasing later this year. Though we didn’t get much of a look at the game itself just yet, it was more than enough to get fans very excited about what’s to come.

That lack of concrete information about what exactly has changed in the upcoming remake leaves behind a void that’s ripe to be filled with fan speculation. One of the biggest areas of debate is the game’s map, which many fans are convinced could be an entirely different experience to explore this time around.

Will Ocarina Of Time’s Remake Feature A Map With No Loading?

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post confirming the news of the remake’s upcoming arrival, and fans were very quick to weigh in with their responses on exactly what they want to see from the final product. One user contested that, “It would be cool if the world in Ocarina of Time has no loading zones. All zones are connected into one.”

It’s certainly a very cool idea, and there were plenty in the responses who are demanding something similar from Nintendo when the time comes for the game to release. “BOTW’s map is huge and traversal is seamless, I would be surprised if they wouldn’t remove the loading points for this remake,” one said.

“I’d assume that’ll be one of the major changes from the ‘I remade OoT in UE5′ crowd, with the others being adjustments to the scale — Castle Town feeling like a real town etc & just general polish. Would be very disappointing if it’s a 1:1 remake in the same way Star Fox is,” another added.

“I’d love them to expand the entire map. It doesn’t need to be BOTW scale, but a bit bigger and stuff it full of people,” a third said.

We don’t have a specific release date for the Ocarina of Time remake just yet, though Nintendo has promised that it will be dropping later this year. The only caveat to all of that good fun is that it’s set to be a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, meaning that those who are yet to upgrade to the newer console will be left out in the cold until they do decide to take the leap.
