Oliver Tree was killed along with five other people in helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, on Sunday. The Santa Cruz-born musician, producer, and filmmaker was 32 years old.

CNN Brasil reports that two helicopters collided mid-air in southwest Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Atlantic Records signee was best known for his songs “When I’m Down,” Life Goes On, and “Miss You.” The latter two tracks appeared on his debut album, 2020’s Ugly Is Beautiful, which was certified gold. He was also an accomplished music video director and sketch comedian.

At the time of his death, Tree was amid a world tour in support of his latest album, Love You Madly Hate You Badly, with plans to play shows in all seven continents.
