Pixies are continuing to celebrate their 40th anniversary as a band by reissuing 1990’s Bossanova and 1991’s Trompe le Monde on vinyl and CD. Both reprintings are out on September 11th. The albums will be available in limited-edition vinyl pressings with 7-inch singles featuring unreleased songs, including the late Steve Albini’s version of “Dig for Fire.”
In addition to being remastered for 2026, the special “Dinked Edition” of Bossanova will come on oxblood colored vinyl with a bonus 7-inch containing “Dig for Fire (Albini Version)” and “Go Man Go.” The Albini version of “Dig for Fire” was recorded in late 1987 for Pixies’ Surfer Rosa sessions. Black Francis and Kim Deal co-wrote the latter track during the sessions for Bossanova and Last Splash, but it was only unearthed recently.
The limited edition of Trompe le Monde, also newly remastered, is pressed on sky blue vinyl and includes a 7-inch featuring the previously unreleased “Brackish Boy” and “Punk Loop.” Kevin Vanbergen, who remastered both albums, unearthed both tracks while going through the session tapes for Trompe le Monde.

Bossanova was Pixies’ follow-up to their 1989 breakthrough album, Doolittle, leaning back toward the grunge sound of their debut effort, Surfer Rosa. It produced two Billboard Modern Rock chart hits, “Velouria” and “Dig for Fire.”
Meanwhile, Trompe le Monde was the band’s final album before their initial breakup and their last to feature bassist Kim Deal. The LP’s hits include “Letter to Memphis” and “Head On.”
