Pokémon Reveals Epic Return To Kanto For 30th Anniversary Surprise

The Pokémon 30th anniversary celebrations are very much in full swing, with The Pokémon Company and Nintendo revealing several new projects, games, merchandise, and more. It has been a truly exceptional year for fans of Pokémon, and it appears to be getting better and better with each month. Of course, not every event, game reveal, and item of merch will have appealed to Pokémon fans, especially those who prefer a particular region that may have been left to the wayside a little.

Fortunately, for those who love Kanto and have hoped The Pokémon Company would pay it close attention during these celebrations, a brand-new product is hitting shelves related entirely to the region. This isn’t the first time The Pokémon Company has returned to the classic Pokémon games during the celebration, but it is particularly special, as aforementioned, for those wanting something a little more focused on Red, Blue, and Yellow.

The Pokémon Company has released a brand-new line of customizable T-shirts to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. It joins the recently announced Kanto-focused Pokémon manga collection as yet another way the company is celebrating the legendary series. The T-shirts, which can be purchased from the official Pokémon Center website, can be designed with any of the 151 Pokémon from the Kanto region, with prospective buyers choosing the Pokémon and then the color and size of the shirt.

The T-shirt size options range from small to 5XL and the base colors are white, black, navy, and gray. The Pokémon goes in the center of the top, with its corresponding Pokédex number sitting beneath it. Certain Pokémon have different design options, such as Ninetales having its original design and Alolan version as potential options. It’s a fairly robust offering, one that is set to expand in the future too. Those who are interested in picking up their own custom-designed Pokémon tops can do so for $24.99, excluding shipping costs.

In the future, The Pokémon Company intends to add Pokémon from every other region. So far, just Kanto is available, but fans can expect Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, Paldea region, Hisui region, and many more to appear soon. This all but guarantees that everyone’s favorite Pokémon has a dedicated piece of merchandise, something that will assuredly be exciting for those who feel like they’re missing out. Frankly, it is about time that Komala got a top.

Of course, as aforementioned, this is just a small fraction of the available Pokémon 30th anniversary merch. It is all adding up to be a tad expensive, especially for diehard collectors, but for those just after a top, manga collection, novelty music player, or whatever else The Pokémon Company is offering, it is easy to pick and choose. It remains to be seen what else is done for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, which technically ends on February 27, 2027. However, if this is the final product, then it is fair to say that Pokémon has been done justice.
