Some career decisions are written in the stars. At least, that seems to be Ranbir Kapoor’s explanation for Sai Pallavi’s journey from medicine to movies. The actor had a rather amusing response when Amitabh Bachchan brought up his Ramayana co-star’s medical background during their appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.
In a newly released promo, Amitabh Bachchan asks Sai Pallavi how she ended up in films despite studying to become a doctor. The actress attributes her career choice to destiny, explaining that God had perhaps always intended for her to pursue acting.
Ranbir, however, couldn’t resist adding his own witty spin to the conversation. Playing on Sai Pallavi’s medical background, he quipped, “Bhagwan ka prescription tha Sir (God wrote in his prescription) that she has to act.” His quick-witted remark drew cheers and applause from the audience.
Interestingly, Sai Pallavi completed her medical studies at Tbilisi State Medical University in Georgia before choosing a career in cinema. She rose to prominence with her breakthrough performance in the Malayalam film Premam and subsequently established herself as a celebrated performer across South Indian cinema.
The upcoming KBC special will also see the actress discussing her decision to portray Sita in Ramayana. In another promotional clip, she reveals that, unlike her previous projects, she approached this character with a desire to learn from the experience rather than simply focus on what she could bring to the role.

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey will appear on the quiz show on October 29 and 30 as part of their promotional activities for Ramayana.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the mythological epic features Ranbir as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana, Yash as Ravana and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. The first instalment is scheduled to release theatrically on November 5, 2026.
