Actress Rani Mukerji’s mother, Krishna Mukerji, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 75. This news was confirmed by the family via a statement on Tuesday. They expressed, “With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji’s mother, Mrs Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon.”
The family also expressed their gratitude to the fans for their support and requested some privacy during this hard time. The statement further added, “The family is deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support, and respectfully requests privacy during this time of immense grief.”
Rani Mukerji has never shied away from expressing how supportive her mother had been throughout her life and shared a close bond with her. During an interview she had said, “For me, my mother has been one such character who has been with me right from my childhood. I don’t remember a single day that I must’ve had without her in my life, whether it’s even after marriage, even after me having Adira.”
