During the latest episode of Bigg Boss Hindi Season 20, host and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan hit out at social media trolls targeting celebrities over their appearance, particularly the physical changes that women celebs undergo post pregnancy. The Sikandar star addressed the online body-shaming directed at his colleague, Katrina Kaif, who was recently in the news over her presence at a ceremony hosted by the Ambani family.
Salman defended the postpartum weight gain of the Tiger Zinda Hai actress by citing that it’s completely natural for women to gain weight during pregnancy. New mothers deserve time with their families, the Maatrubhumi actor further added, also opining that Katrina will easily get back into shape whenever she chooses to return to working in films.
Salman says audience don’t own celebs
“Say that your work isn’t good, say that you didn’t like this film. You bought a ticket to watch the film. You didn’t buy us,” Salman stated. He was clearly miffed with the derogatory remarks about others’ looks, weight, or motherhood, saying such comments merely reflect the poor upbringing of the trolls. He questioned the mindset of anonymous internet users who profit or derive pleasure from putting others down. In a viral moment, Salman wiped off his makeup and removed his shirt on camera.
Fans laud Salman Khan’s gesture
Netizens have given a thumbs-up to Salman. Viral clips and fan edits circulating with captions like “No fear. No explanations. Just pure confidence” says it all. The broader anti-trolling message has received the support of many. People praised him for calling out body-shaming, age-shaming, and “parasites” who profit from negativity. The bold, unorthodox flex by Salman has become a viral moment. “Nobody did more for fitness culture in Bollywood than Salman Khan. And even after all these years, the OG still has the confidence to own a national television moment like this. Only Bhai can,” a fan wrote.
