Sebastian Stan’s The Batman 2 Casting Lets Him Join The Court Of Owls (DC Sequel Theory Explained)

Following the rumors and teases of the Court of Owls and Victor Zsasz being in The Batman 2, one particularly exciting theory about the DC movie combines these concepts by having the DC comic killer working for the Court in the film’s story. Both the Court of Owls and Victor Zsasz have seen little in the way of big screen live-action adaptations, making the prospect of either or both appearing in The Batman 2 a promising prospect.

With the Court of Owl’s potential appearance in The Batman 2 having even been teased in set photos which show a sign that says “Court of Fowls” – suggesting the group could be set to appear in some capacity in the film – it’s easy to see how the story of the sinister organization that tries to run Gotham from the shadows could tie in to a wide array of other stories within The Batman‘s universe.

If the Court is to appear in The Batman 2, ensuring they are depicted as a core part of creating Gotham’s wider issues seems imperative for the film’s story. Luckily, one theory presents the perfect way to do so, by suggesting that Sebastian Stan’s rumored casting as Victor Zsasz in the film could see the Gotham serial killer take on the role of being under the Court of Owl’s control.

Ever since rumors emerged that Sebastian Stan would be playing DC serial killer Victor Zsasz in The Batman 2, fans have theorized aplenty about how Zsasz could fit into the wider story of the series, and what routes could allow the often sidelined member of the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery to have a more major role in the upcoming Batman movie.

One of the most interesting of these theories posits that Victor Zsasz could well be working for the Court of Owls in The Batman 2 if the teases around the group existing in the grounded DC film universe come to fruition, and that Zsasz could even be the Court’s Talon – the title given to the Court of Owl’s special trained assassins in the comics.

Since the Talons in The Batman 2 are a little more fantastical, as often centuries-old, on-ice brainwashed assassins with super-human level fighting capabilities, having Victor Zsasz serve as a more grounded Talon would make a lot of sense, and would allow the series to further drive home the way its universe ties together Gotham’s corruption and underworld as two sides of the same proverbial coin.

Combining Victor Zsasz’s Story With The Court Of Owls Would Be For The Best For The Batman 2

If Victor Zsasz is indeed to appear in The Batman 2, it’s worth ensuring his depiction and story are as clearly different as possible to the villain’s last live-action movie appearance in 2020’s Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn).

Having Zsasz be either brainwashed or simply convinced to act as an assassin and enforcer for the Court of Owls would certainly come under this category, and would provide a useful way for the figure to be far more than just a brief side character whose role has little wider significance for the DC sequel or its story.

Indeed, having someone like Victor Zsasz connected to the Court of Owls could be the best way for the group to be taken down if this is the route The Batman 2 goes down, since all Batman would theoretically need to do in order to deal with them is to prove a link between the shadowy faction, and the unhinged serial killer who’s been unleashed on Gotham’s streets to carry out their whims.
