18 YEARS! 18 years is a fairly long time, but it’s better late than never. Disney stars, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato made a surprise reunion, recreating moments from their viral vlog in 2008, shocking fans from all around the world.
Back in the day, they were the biggest deal for their proficiency in music and acting alike. Selena Gomez rose to fame with her breakout role in The Wizards of Waverly Place, where she played a young wizard, Alex Russo, making life difficult for her family in a comical way.
Demi Lovato, on the other hand, played Mitchie Torres in a Disney original movie, Camp Rock, featuring the Jonas Brothers, who were making their debut on that channel.
Back in 2008, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato teamed up to make their own blog on YouTube with the iconic and catchy intro. It start with Selena starts off with a “yo,” followed by Demi saying, “yo yo, ya I said it twice, you got a problem with that.” As Jake Peralta would say, “Chills, literal chills!”
The video was fondly dubbed by their loyal fans as Delena. Cut forward 18 years in the future, and the duo has once again broken the internet. In a four-minute video, Selena and Demi made a new vlog, paying homage to the format of the older one by including the classic early 10’s vlog style and singing their Disney duet, ‘One And The Same’. Overall, they were just bonding and reminiscing cherished memories.
This collaboration was in the best interest of Selena Gomez’s beauty brand’s campaign. To further give us a packed punch of nostalgia, they recreated their Princess Protection Program movie poster, with the same poses and everything.
Demi Lovato recently helped produce Camp Rock 3, while also appearing in a surprise cameo role, reprising her character, Mitchie.
