For many people out there, Fallout: New Vegas is still the all-time high point in the beloved post-apocalyptic series, with the heady blend of glitz, glamor, and ghouls doing more than enough to earn developer Obsidian Entertainment significant plaudits.

It’s undoubtedly a brilliant game, and the factions and locations featured within it have become foundational for the wider franchise as a whole. It featured heavily in the second series of the Prime Video adaptation, and that gave it a resurgence in popularity that has seen more people talking about it in 2026 than they have in a long time.

Now, another project has come along that’s really upped the levels significantly, and it’s going to be a must-watch if you’re a fan of the franchise.

As first reported by Insider Gaming, Fallout: Siege of New Vegas is an upcoming fan-made film built inside Unreal Engine that could serve as a remarkable celebration of the original game. All that we’ve seen so far is a relatively short teaser, but it’s a spectacular window into its potential and absolutely one designed by fanatical fans, for fanatical fans.

The story follows up on the NCR ending of the base game (which obviously isn’t technically canon), with Bethesda yet to really confirm what actually happens at the conclusion of New Vegas. In the director’s own words, “the main storyline will heavily focus on the BoS invasion of NCR-controlled Mojave wasteland.”

The movie also incorporates elements from other games, including the power armor from Fallout 4, and it really is a tribute to all the great things the franchise has given us so far.

The Institute is also set to appear in a secondary manner, though the author is keen to stress that they no longer exist in this adaptation. Instead, they will “only appear really briefly in flashback scenes regarding the female synth that the Enclave abducted.” Still, there were a particularly nefarious new faction, and it’s nice to see them utilized further here.

There isn’t really a timeline just yet on when we might get to see the full thing, but if you want to be involved in a small way, you can support the creator on their Patreon.

As much as Bethesda can do in their own right, they’ll always be outdone by the immensely dedicated work of the Fallout community at large, who continue to produce brilliant content and extend the legacy of a beloved franchise that’s desperately in need of more playable experiences. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that we get one from the developer in short order.
