The Madison, Wisconsin-born, Chicago-bred rockers Slow Pulp are back with a new album, Melodie, their first since 2023’s Yard. It’s out September 18 on ANTI-. The announcement comes with a lead single, “Better Man,” which you can listen to below, along with a full slate of tour stops. Feller, Snuggle, Her New Knife, Goon, Ivy, Graham Hunt, and Current Union will open for the band on select dates.

“I realized that I had let go of the controls of my own life and instead was fully prioritizing what I thought people around me wanted from me,” guitarist and songwriter Henry Stoehr said in a statement about “Better Man,” adding that “this song is me both letting go of control but taking control of myself in a new way, and accepting myself for who I am, and hoping that can be accepted by everyone else.”

Revisit our 2023 review of Yard.
