The 70th Filmfare Awards South with Kerala Tourism are officially heading to the heart of Kerala, and the excitement is already building. The event is set to take place on February 21 bringing together the finest talent from the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries, ultimately paving the way for the biggest and grandest celebration of South Indian cinema.

This milestone edition marks a special moment as the Black Lady arrives in Kochi. The event is a grand collaboration, with Kerala Tourism joining as the Destination Partner, alongside Special Partner Kamar Film Factory co-powered by Prestige and Sensodent, ensuring a celebration that matches the scale and prestige of the awards’ legacy.

The 69th Filmfare Awards South that took place in 2024 was also an event to remember which was hosted by the trio of Faria Abdullah, Sundeep Kishan, and Vindhya Vishaka. Tamil film, Chithha was the most awarded film winning seven awards in total. This edition too, like the previous years, promises to be as exciting as ever with several stars from South cinema set to grace the event.

    About Kerala

Cradled between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats, Kerala brings together beaches, backwaters, hills, forests, and heritage within close reach. Sun-washed shores at Kovalam, Varkala, and Marari meet the calm backwaters of Alappuzha and Kumarakom, while Munnar, Wayanad, Thekkady, and Vagamon rise into mist-covered highlands. Forests in Silent Valley and Periyar shelter rare wildlife, and historic centres such as Kochi, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kannur reflect centuries of cultural exchange.

Spirituality flows naturally through the state, from the Guruvayur and Sabarimala shrines to the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, alongside ancient churches and historic mosques that reflect Kerala’s tradition of coexistence.

Kerala’s cultural life is expressed through classical art forms, festivals, boat races, and a cuisine shaped by land and sea. Supported by strong infrastructure, warm hospitality, and a commitment to responsible tourism, Kerala continues to welcome travellers with experiences that balance discovery and wellbeing, truly, God’s Own Country.
