One of the most awaited films of 2026, The Devil Wears Prada 2, has officially made an impressive opening at the Indian box office.  The Devil Wears Prada 2, the hit Hollywood fashion comedy drama starring Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, made a wave at Indian theatres, with a Rs 5.50 crore net earning on Day 1.

According to sacnilk, “the film had collected Rs 3.80 crore net on Friday across just 1,644 shows. With the inclusion of Thursday’s paid preview screenings, the film’s total India net collections stand at Rs 5.50 crore, with the total gross collections hitting an estimated Rs 6.57 crore.”

Additionally, “The film had built early momentum with its paid previews, placing it on par with the recent Hollywood release ‘Michael’, which had a similar performance. The Michael Jackson biopic earned an estimated Rs 1.70 crore from paid preview shows and earned Rs 3.70 crore on its opening day. Thus, both Hollywood films registered almost identical collections at the box office.”

According to reports from KOIMOI, “Anne Hathaway starrer was competing against Jaafar Jackson’s Michael, which had delivered an opening of 5.4 crore net in India, including paid previews of 1.7 crore. Drumrolls, please! The Devil Wears Prada 2 has surpassed its rival by a slight margin to score the biggest opening of 2026 for Hollywood. The trends are favorable, so the footfalls will only surge during the opening weekend. Exciting times ahead!”
