The Legend of Zelda is celebrating a very big birthday as a franchise this year, finally hitting 40 years since those first shaky pixels shuffled onto our screens during the Famicom Disk System/Nintendo Entertainment System era. Since then, things have grown exponentially, and it’s easily one of the most iconic series in the history of video games overall.

To mark the occasion, fans are expecting some pretty big announcements from Nintendo themselves, though we haven’t had too much up to this point. Now, things are starting to shift, and we’ve had confirmation of a very cool new line of products that you’ll likely want to pick up, but it won’t come cheap if you want all of them.

Over on Twitter/X, the official page for Nintendo of Japan shared two updates about new products releasing in the country. The post reads as follows:

“From Hanayama-san, the new set of ‘Escape: The Legend of Zelda’ will be released on April 25. Themed around ‘Hylian Shield’ and ‘Kabadna’s Signboard,’ why not try challenging the puzzle?”

If you weren’t aware already, these new releases are part of the Huzzle range, an officially licensed series of metal brain-teaser puzzles created by Hanayama in collaboration with Nintendo. At the same time, they also confirmed that The Triforce, The Emblem of Hyrule, and The Master Sword editions of those puzzles are also available for sale right now.

The individual items themselves are relatively reasonable, clocking in at 3630 Yen, or around $20 at the time of writing. The problem comes when you realize that it becomes well over $100 for the whole collection, but the outlay, unfortunately, doesn’t stop there if you do want to get hold of them.

The products are only officially available in the Japanese store for domestic shipping, meaning that if you are based in the UK, US or elsewhere in the world, they won’t post it to you directly. The way around that is to use a third party service who will take delivery of the product and then ship it to you, but you’ll quickly be paying four or even five times the ticket price of each item when all is said and done.

The Zelda fun hopefully won’t stop there any time soon, with the movie still continuing production apace and other rumors swirling about what could be coming up next in the game department. Those include the long-requested Ocarina of Time remake, as well as the first Switch 2 exclusive game in the series, so we could be in for a really exciting time over the next couple of years as fans.
