The Paradise, starring Nani, arrived in theatres amid considerable buzz, but the initial reactions from moviegoers on social media have been divided. While the film has been generating anticipation since its announcement, early viewers have criticised Nani’s gritty mass avatar, the interval fight sequence and Anirudh Ravichander’s background score. However, several reactions have raised concerns about the second half, particularly the writing, editing, emotional depth, excessive slow-motion sequences and familiar mass-film tropes.

One moviegoer had a particularly critical take on the film, describing it as “A Patience Testing Artificial Mass Film” and stating that only the opening portions and interval block worked for them.

Another viewer compared The Paradise with Nani and Srikanth Odela’s previous collaboration, Dasara. The review read, “3 years ago #Dasara was a disappointment. I thought I’d learned my lesson. Today, I walked into #TheParadise thinking, “Surely it can’t be that bad.” I simply refuse to learn.”

The criticism surrounding the second half was echoed by another viewer, who wrote, “#TheParadise – First half was at least passable but the Second half was completely Flat & travels elsewhere throughout the film !! Even Anirudh’s background in the 2nd half didn’t work.”

#TheParadise – First half was atleast Pasable but the Second half was completely Flat & travels elsewhere throughout the film !!

    Even Anirudh’s background in 2nd half didn’t work 🙁

Mother Sentiment was the core of the film, but the mother character has been setup so flaud, so…

Another user shared a detailed reaction, writing, “#TheParadise – Mass Avatar doesn’t suit Nani. Funny Villain, Dummy Kayadu, Weak Mom. Loud BGM & Worst Edits. Opening 20Mins, Interval Point & KCR Scenes Gud. Minus – Staging, Color Tone, Slow Motion Shots, Random Actions, Emotionless Mom-Son Bond, Improper Narration flow. BAD Watch!”

Set in 1980s Secunderabad, The Paradise follows Jadal, played by Nani, as he fights against social discrimination and a system that has denied his community basic rights. The film blends its period setting with action and drama.

The film marks Nani and Srikanth Odela’s second collaboration after Dasara, which released in 2023. The Paradise also features Mohan Babu, Kayadu Lohar, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal.
