Steve Lacy’s third album, the self-produced Oh Yeah?, arrives next month, and today, he set the tone with his first single of 2026. “The Feeling” arrives alongside a Matthew Castellanos-directed video that opens on Lacy’s floating head in pitch darkness. The artist can then be seen strumming an acoustic guitar in an empty room, singing in front of a sparkler, and posing shirtless in front of psychedelic backdrops. Watch that and peep the album artwork below.

Lacy has been teasing Oh Yeah? since October 2025, when he dropped his single “Nice Shoes.” In an interview with Rolling Stone’s Jeff Ihaza at the time, the guitarist and producer said the song introduced a “new era” in his career. “This one has taken a lot of time and thought,” he said. “I keep using the word ‘design.’ It feels like fully designing a new language for myself.”

It’s been almost four years since Lacy released his last project, Gemini Rights, which earned him a Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B Album in 2023 and featured his biggest hit thus far, “Bad Habit.” His solo debut, Apollo XXI, came out in 2019.
