Weezer have yet another self-titled album on the way, and this time, it’s gold. Their first LP since 2021’s Van Weezer and OK Human—as well as the subsequent Sznz EP series—arrives August 21 via Reprise/Warner. Weezer includes Rivers Cuomo’s first co-write with drummer Pat Wilson since the band’s debut; the lead single, meanwhile, is a duet between Cuomo and Wednesday’s Karly Hartzman. Watch Jasper Graham’s video for “We Might as Well Be Strangers” [ft. Wednesday] below.

The Gold Album (no relation to the ABBA classic) was produced by Klas Åhlund and Kenneth Blume, the producer formerly known as Kenny Beats, who says in a press release that he wanted to make “the most violent Weezer album ever.”

Back in March, Weezer announced a tour that we now know to be pegged to the album. Weezer: The Gathering kicks off in September, with support from the Shins and Silversun Pickups. The Gold Album follows the band’s long-running color concept that comprises, in reverse-chronological order, Black, Teal, White, Red, Green, and a debut that is now preserved in the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry: The Blue Album.

    Weezer (The Gold Album):
    01 Say Yes
    02 Shine Again
    03 Don’t Make It Weird
04 We Might as Well Be Strangers [ft. Wednesday]
    05 C.E.O.
    06 Hoops
    07 Nowhere
08 The Show Must Go On
    09 Up in the Clouds
    10 The LA Sound
