PlayStation Quietly Drops 2 New FREE Games You Don’t Need PS Plus For

If you’re looking for something new to play this Christmas and don’t want to spend any money, PlayStation has quietly dropped two brand-new games that you can download and keep for free. The best part is you don’t even need PlayStation Plus to enjoy them.

As first spotted by PlayStation Lifestyle, these two new free games would absolutely have flown under your radar. They’re not exactly AAA hits like a new God of War or Call of Duty, but they’re genuinely interesting-looking little games that could offer up some fun at no extra cost.

Cup Heroes Is Free Right Now

Not sure how to describe this one

Cup Heroes was originally released as a mobile game in which you solve various puzzles to overcome challenges in a fantasy land. It might not look like Game of the Year material, but it has a four-star rating on the Google Play Store, and has over 10 million players. Now it’s free to download and keep via the PlayStation Store.

“Step into the whimsical world of Cup Heroes, where everyday cups turn into mighty heroes on an epic quest to save their beloved Queen!”

While it doesn’t really look like my cup of tea, Cup Heroes promises multiple characters with their own special abilities, a range of biomes to explore, and large-scale boss battles. There are also daily quests, because this is still a mobile game at its heart.

Lokko Looks Like A Lot Of Fun

    Lokko and load

Lokko was also recently added as a free game you don’t need PlayStation Plus to download, and this one looks like it could be a ton of fun. One important thing to note at this point is that Lokko is in beta, so expect to run into the occasional issue.

If that doesn’t put you off, what Lokko offers is a 3D platformer with an emphasis on players building and sharing their own levels for other gamers to complete.

“Help Lokko and his brother overcome the evil Goobol Corporation and deliver piping hot Pizzas worldwide! LOKKO is a unique 3D platformer where fun meets creativity. Build and share challenging levels across PS5, PC and iOS seamlessly in real-time. Make your own character and design your enemies and bosses. Leverage the power of DualSense on all three platforms. Players can share their creations and compete against their friends anytime, anywhere. Be the one who makes the best, most fun levels!”

Both games are available right now, so have a think about diving in on PlayStation over Christmas. It’s something to do in between eating all that leftover turkey, at least.
