Geeta Tandon and her son were recently invited to appear as guests on an Indian TV game show, where they would interact with Anil Kapoor. Reaching the set as early as 12:30 PM, the segment was said to be shot within a couple of hours. However, realisation set in when the hours turned into an entire day. They patiently waited inside a tent with zero clarity and no updates.
After a long wait of over nine hours, and some disrespect faced from the production team, they left. Anil Kapoor and Farah Khan have since shared their thoughts on the events and apologised for the way in which she was treated.
Anil Kapoor was deeply hurt by the events that transpired, saying, “Geeta ji, it genuinely saddens me to hear this. As the host, I always wanted everyone who was part of the show to feel welcome and respected. You and your son came as our guests. I’m sorry that your experience left you feeling otherwise. I’ve been in this industry long enough to know how much dignity and respect matter, and I would never want anyone to feel that they were treated with anything less. I take your feedback seriously and genuinely thank you for sharing it.”
Adding to that, Farah Khan said, “Geetaji, apologies… I had no idea you were there, as I was shooting for the 2nd episode in the evening… otherwise, I would have made you sit in my van, as would Anil if he knew… We have tremendous respect for you and your hard work.”
These comments were responses to a post which Geeta Tandon had uploaded. In the post, Geeta Tandon voiced her situation during a long haul and a sense of disrespect she endured. She said, “What hurt me the most wasn’t just the waiting. It was the complete disregard for our time and the disrespectful way my son and I were treated by the production team. We were invited as guests, yet we were made to feel as though our presence didn’t matter.”
A woman who doesn’t quietly take disrespect confronted the production team. Though when they did question their behaviour, they were instead told by the production manager, Jaydeep, “If they want to leave, let them leave. But they can’t leave without signing.”
After nine long hours, at 9:15 PM, she finally left from there with her son. She finally addressed Anil Kapoor, Farah Khan and Banijay Asia, saying, “I don’t know how much you were aware of what was happening behind the scenes, and I am not suggesting that you personally instructed anyone to treat us this way… Being a celebrity should not determine how much respect someone deserves.
