Ahead of the release of Tuner, actor Dustin Hoffman opened up about the film and sharing the screen with Leo Woodall. The film follows a piano tuner whose exceptionally sharp ear for the smallest details in sound gradually pulls him into a world of high-stakes safe cracking and crime. What begins as a rare and almost artistic ability slowly transforms into something far more dangerous, where his talent becomes both his greatest strength and his biggest risk, setting off a chain of events he never anticipated.
Dustin Hoffman opened up about what drew him to Tuner, sharing, “When I first read the script, I was impressed by how well-written it was and struck by the original way the story evolved into a heist genre; it felt fresh and compelling. The role of a piano tuner immediately resonated with me on a personal level, as these craftsmen are often quite accomplished pianists themselves yet remain underappreciated.”
He also reflected on his bond with co-star Leo Woodall, adding, “Niki is like a son to Harry, and bringing that relationship to the screen with Leo was one of the best parts of making this movie. We hit it off immediately. Working together, especially improvising, and our genuine chemistry comes through on screen.”
With its immersive storytelling where sound, silence and precision become central to the narrative, Tuner builds a tense and atmospheric world that is both intelligent and gripping.
Directed by Daniel Roher and featuring a strong ensemble cast, the film stands out for its stylistic treatment and character-driven approach, offering audiences a fresh take on the crime thriller genre.
The film will be released in cinemas in India on 29th May, 2026.
