After Dhurandhar’s massive success, Ranveer Singh is planning to start shooting for his upcoming movie, Pralay. There were reports about several actresses being considered to star opposite him. The reports had also mentioned that Alia Bhatt might be a strong contender for the role. However, a recent report by journalist Rahul Raut has stated that Malayalam actress Kalyani Priyadarshan might be the perfect choice for the movie.
Kalyani recently gained acclaim for Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra. She starred alongside Dulquer Salmaan. Now, the report states that she has been roped in for the new zombie thriller, directed by Jai Mehta, Hansal Mehta’s son.
As per other reports, Ranveer Singh’s Pralay will have a significant budget. It will also have extensive VFX. Recently, Ranveer also walked out of Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3. Our sources exclusively reported that Hrithik may have been roped in to play the lead after Ranveer’s exit. “Following Ranveer’s exit, Hrithik has emerged as a strong contender for the role. While discussions are still at a very early stage, it will be interesting to see whether Hrithik ultimately comes on board,” our sources revealed.
As per another report by India Today, “Ranveer Singh hasn’t walked out of Don 3 like the rumour mills claim. It’s actually an entirely different story… To start with, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar offered him Don 3 after he had delivered three colossal flops. They stood by him even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved Baiju Bawra because he was considered not saleable at the time.”
While no official announcement has been made yet, the reported casting of Kalyani Priyadarshan opposite Ranveer Singh has certainly added to the growing buzz around Pralay. With a large-scale budget, heavy VFX and a relatively unexplored zombie-thriller space in Bollywood, the film is shaping up to be one of Ranveer’s most ambitious projects.
