Lizzo’s Next Album Is Called Bitch

Lizzo has shared details for her upcoming third album, Bitch. The 12-song LP is set to drop June 5 and will include her previously released disco romp “Don’t Make Me Love U.” The record’s title track is out May 1. Check out the full track list—which includes some very Lizzo song titles like “That GRRRL” and “Happy 2 Be”—below.

“Reclaiming the word Bitch is power—it’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love,” Lizzo explained in a statement, adding, “It was only fitting to name my album Bitch because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that bitch!”

Bitch is Lizzo’s first album since 2022’s Special. In February 2025, she announced what was originally supposed to be her next project, Love in Real Life. But after the singles “Still Bad” and the title track failed to break through on the charts, she decided to scrap the record entirely. In an interview last fall with New York, she called “Still Bad” “overproduced” and said she was able to shift gears creatively after a pivotal meeting with her label. “I sat down at the table and I said, ‘I need to do shit my way starting from now. And I need y’all to have my back. It’s going to be a little scary.’ And everybody agreed, and they said, ‘We got your back, whatever you need.’” Her fiery summer 2025 rap mixtape My Face Hurts From Smiling was the result of that overhaul.

Last June, Lizzo spoke about her then-untitled new album with Rolling Stone, describing it as “my pop, rock, rap genre of music. It’s a little moodier, it’s a little darker. It talks about the dark times.” Those dark times are a likely reference to the lawsuits the pop star faced in 2023 from three of her former backup dancers, who accused her of sexual harassment, racial harassment, and disability discrimination. She was dropped from a separate workplace harassment suit, filed by former tour employee Asha Daniels, in December 2024.

Lizzo is also set to star in the forthcoming biopic Rosetta, where she will play Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the influential singer regarded as the godmother of Rock n’ Roll.
