Actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt on Saturday, 23rd May, shared a heartfelt post on her social media as a tribute honouring the late actor Mukul Dev on the anniversary of his passing. She posted a photo of the actor along with the caption, “To live in hearts we leave behind, is not to die,” quoting Thomas Campbell. The post commemorates his life and legacy, noting his birth and passing dates (September 17, 1970 – May 23, 2025).
Soon after, the actress shared the post on her official Instagram handle, and fans and other industry professionals started expressing their tributes to the late actor. One of them commented, “He lives on in the breath of everyone who loved him. His artistry, his presence, and his silence are all still felt. He is gone, but he left behind an everlasting mark that will not fade away. Today is not the day of someone’s departure, but the day of someone’s permanent residence. A humble tribute to Mukul Dev ji.”
While another comment simply read, “A colossal loss.” “He’s truly an inspiration ..missed with all our hearts,” wrote another.

Renowned for his roles in Hindi and Punjabi films, TV series, and music albums, and also his appearance in Bengali, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu films, Mukul Dev was an Indian television and film actor.
The late Bollywood actor was hospitalised for an illness. His health worsened, and despite being moved to the intensive care unit, he died in New Delhi on 23 May, at the age of 54.
The younger brother of actor Rahul Dev, Mukul had a parallel career in film and television. Born in New Delhi to a Punjabi family, he was exposed to diverse cultures early on. His father, a police officer with a passion for Afghan culture, influenced Mukul’s love for languages and literature.
Mukul’s first performance came in childhood when he impersonated Michael Jackson for a Doordarshan show. He also trained as a pilot at the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, reflecting his wide range of talents.
