Robyn is back. Yesterday (November 9), the Swedish pop star posted a link to sign up for a mailing list to her Instagram story, with the cryptic message “keep your eyes open….” Now, she’s announced what appears to be her first single in seven years. It’s called “Dopamine,” and it’s out this Wednesday, November 12.

In September, Klas Åhlund, one of Robyn’s longtime collaborators, appeared on Per Nordmark’s podcast Nordmark Pod. In a quote from the episode, translated from Swedish by Stereogum, he said, “Just finished a new Robyn album that’s coming out. Super exciting! Very proud of it.”

Robyn’s last studio album, Honey, came out in 2018. Since then she’s remained active as a collaborator, featuring on songs by SG Lewis, Sigur Rós’ Jónsi, Smile, Neneh Cherry, and Jamie xx, and alongside fellow Swede Yung Lean on the remix of Charli XCX’s “360,” from Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat.

Read about Honey at No. 71 in “The 200 Best Albums of the 2010s.”
